RSS - For Your Staff and Patrons

Events, Room Reserve, and Summer Reader all use RSS to provide different types of information to your library staff and users. If you're having a hard time teaching what RSS is capable of and why your library should be implementing those features on Evanced products, you might want to take a look at this great clip:

Version 6.7 Events and Room Reserve Features

Evanced Solutions begins 2009 with the launch of version 6.7 of Events and Room Reserve. Check out the new features and improvements. Contact Support with any questions.

Events
- Individual user name and password log on is now an option for staff interface
- Digg/Delicious tagging options have been added
- New Save & Preview button on Event Add/Edit page
- Username in place of login level is now displayed when using advanced logins
- Bulk process ongoing checkbox for publish and archive has been added
- A “Show Unpublished” checkbox has been added to the Events PR Report
- In EventsXML there are added URL parameters for publishing and private display.
- Link added to subscriber list, which shows directly what patron is subscribed to what notification list
- Pop-up added to notify staff when they are going to modify a recurring event series that has had modifications done to one to more individual events within the series or there are statistics tied to one or more events. This only occurs if the series dates are going to be effected by the change.
- New edit buttons under create only level on the event info/registration page

Room Reserve
- E-commerce/Online Credit Card Pay option for Room Reserve (additional cost)
- Individual user name and password log now an option for staff interface
- Username in place of login level is now displayed when using advanced logins
- "Request Cancel" page setup to handle canceling ALL occurrences of a recurring reservation
- Improved operation of Recurring Reservations page setup to properly handle editing of a reservation
- Changed reservation range to allow Month option in addition to Day option
- Added "Last Updated" info for requests/reservations in the Quick View window, next to each link

Events/Rooms Bug Hunt 1.0 Update

The first ever Evanced Bug Hunt contest is over and the results are in (click here). It wa a close race and because of that our panel of judges has decided to declare 2 ties.

So TIED for First Place:
The "Wildcats" from the Manhattan Public Library (Kansas)
- Who almost led from wire to wire, and

The "Book Bugs" from York County Library (Virginia)
- Who technically just squeaked by on the last day by a single point.

Each of the first prize teams will get to choose between a Wii or $300 in Amazon Gift Certificates (broken down as requested).

We then also declared a tie for Third Place:
"Team Westerville" from the Westerville Public Library (Ohio) and
The Clearwater Public Library (Florida)

The Third place teams will each receive $60 in Amazon gift certificates.
